For all adoptions legally finalized in Massachusetts, the US, and abroad, a licensed adoption agency must perform a home study. The US Immigration and Naturalization Service also requires a home study to process international adoptions. For all international adoption home studies ARA must plan carefully with you and with your Hague accredited adoption placement agency before the home study may begin.
The home study is an in-depth evaluation that not only explores your circumstances, history, home setting and suitability to adopt, but educates the prospective parent on what adoption involves. In our experience, the home study is helpful, pleasant and growth enhancing.
